Community Service Project

​

The HES PTA will be collecting donations for our local soup kitchen Angels and Sparrows November 28th through December 2nd. Angels & Sparrows is a Community Table and Resource Center, located in Huntersville, for families and individuals who need assistance with food, health, education, housing, finances, and more. Students and families can bring in items and place them in the boxes under the bulletin boards next to the cafeteria. The items they need the most are below, but they will accept any non-perishable items.

Individually wrapped drinking straws

Chicken broth

Bread crumbs plain or Italian

Holiday Shop – Volunteer Opportunities

Please consider signing up for a shift(s) to help students shop for gifts at our Holiday Shop in December. This is always a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity. Holiday Shop – Gifts & Supplies

​

Are you cleaning out your toy room/closets for the upcoming holiday season? If you come across any new toys (or other gift items) that you plan on donating, please consider sending them in to HES for our upcoming Holiday Shop. We would love to include them in the sale – The benefits of doing so are that all proceeds go to support our PTA projects and students shopping at the sale have an opportunity to purchase gifts for their family/friends that they otherwise would not be able to do on their own at a much lower price.   

 

Also, we are still in need of bubble packaging (like your Amazon orders may arrive in) for wrapping “fragile” items, and new/clean reusable grocery bags (the sturdy fabric type) or sturdy gift bags for students to transport their purchases home in. Instead of throwing these items away, please save them for us! They can be dropped off any time behind the welcome desk in front of the main office.
